Pearl Academy of Fashion organises
‘Kite Design Competition’
The selected designs to be the part of the Kite festival, organised by Government of Rajasthan
Jaipur, January 12, 2006: Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF), one of the pioneer educational institutes in the fashion & retail industry today organised “Kite Design competition” – a one-day competition highlighting the creative process and out-of-the box thinking of PAF design students, and exhibited their innovative thoughts through themes such as Independence, Peace, Ambition, Luxury and Progress .. This kite flying was organised with to mark upcoming festival of ‘Makar Sakranti’.
A total of around 60 students were divided into teams of three each, and each team designed a set of 2-3 kites. The kites designed by the PAF students will also be put up for display at the KITE FESTIVAL on the 14 th January 2006 organized by the Department of Tourism, Govt. of Rajasthan. Mr Vinay Sharma, Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy , with the faculty members from Pearl Academy , judged the Kite Design preview. Priyanka Jeswani, Hitesh Ralhan, Richa Khetan won the First Prize and their theme was Independence .
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arindam Das, Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion, Jaipur said, “ It was a commendable job done by the students. These kinds of initiatives are regularly taken by the Academy to orient students toward extra curricular activities and to bring out the hidden talent of the students. The students are enthusiastic about their designs being chosen to be the part of the forthcoming Kite Festival.”
All design courses in Pearl Academy of Fashion strive to inculcate in students the ability to visualise and represent ideas and concepts, understanding and application.
