Pearl Academy’s graduating students’ present dazzling preview of
glamour quotient at PoRtFoLiO ‘07
Jaipur, May 19th, 2007: This summer, gear up for some super-cool trends by Pearl Academy of Fashion students at Portfolio ’07, a final presentation by graduating students of Fashion Design – Indian Wear course displaying their talent and expertise. Smt. Sumitra Singh, Speaker of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and presented the awards to students for best collections in various categories. Mr. Ashok Pranami, Mayor, Jaipur City was the Guest of Honour.
Portfolio ‘07 highlighted student’s creativity and honored those who excelled in the field of fashion designing in Indian wear. The collections were exhibited by renowned models like Nethra Raghuraman, Michelle Innes, Sapna Kumar, Donna Masih, Ankita Jain, Anusha, Ekta and Neha Ahuja among others and the show was choreographed by Ms Harmeet Bajaj.
Congratulating the young talents on their work, Smt Sumitra Singh, Speaker of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly said, “India is known to be the country of colorful dresses and designs. Every part of India has its own dress style and fashion sense. Jaipur is one destination known for fashion fusion of ethnic style and contemporary fashion. These students have recreated the magic and made Jaipur proud.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mr A K G Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion said “Further punctuating its commitment to nurturing and promoting new talent in the Indian fashion industry, Portfolio is a platform for our students to unveil their best creations. Each design presented is unique and reflect student’s reverence for art, culture and nature. I am confident that they will contribute highly to put Indian fashion on the world map.”
Shri Ashok Pranami, Mayor, Jaipur City said, “India has a pool of young talent waiting to be tapped. Through this event, Indian fashion industry is all set to move to international levels. Such events encourage new designers to dream big and chart out new avenues. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors. ”
Over 55 ensembles were displayed on the ramp. There was a special emphasis to cut and form, using a mix of fabrics and textures highlighting the Indiawear.
