BA (Hons.) Textile Design
The Textile Design programme offers an exciting range of learning opportunities spanning across textile design and promotion, focusing on all four core specialist techniques of knits, weaves, prints and surface ornamentation. The future prospects of the Textile industry are not just restricted to apparel but are opening into new avenues in home furnishings, technical textiles and accessories.

This programme spans into four consecutive years of learning and application. Group work is an intrinsic part of the learning experience; from the first year (called Level 0) where substantial support structure for peer group learning is provided to the fourth year (Level 3) in which the learning and teaching strategies enable students to constructively critique their own work and that of others through a grand exhibition and show of final collections known as Thread Works.

Textile Design programmes are modular, with core modules divided as Structural Design, Surface Design, Business Modules and electives. The core modules are career focused, whereas the support and elective modules enable the student to have an upper hand in understanding the international commercial aspects of the working of the industry.

A Textile Design graduate from PAF, is a multifunctional professional who generates design ideas for the domestic and international market by creating 2D (two dimensional) designs for woven and knitted products, embellished and printed fabrics and textile products, as textile designers, managers, merchandisers, stylists or entrepreneurs for mills, export and buying houses, retail brands, design studios.

The future prospects of the textile industry are not just restricted to apparel but are opening into new avenues such as home furnishings, technical textiles and accessories. All textile design graduates are placed well with renowned industries such as Welspun, Maspar, Seasons Furnishings, Jagdish stores, Catmoss, Bombay Dyeing, Obee Tee Carpets, Faze 3, Alok Industries, Arvind Mills, LNG Bhilwara, Design Houses of Nikhil and Shantanu, Malini Ramani, Manav Gangwani, Rohit Bal and Satyapaul. Also some renowned International Brands and Design houses of Zandra Rhodes, NEXT, Donghia International and Floreal International.

THREAD WORKS
It is an exhibition of the Textile Design final year students' projects and is visited by renowned textile designers representing the home fashion and textile industry. THREAD WORKS offers the industry a glimpse of the varied and multihued creative talent in the Academy.
